G3: 2024-2025

In my third year things started to get busy. I couldn't get the post down to a reasonable length without leaving out details I consider important so I split it into two parts; the academic year spent reading and planning in Pasadena, and the summer which I spent managing three SURF students, setting up experiments in two places and organizing a summer lecture series at the marine lab to connect with the local community.
